If you grew up in Texas & had to take Texas History twice, what do you remember learning about the most?

I bet it's not the Texas Slave Insurrection of 1860, where 3 black men from Dallas were accused of starting a fire that burned the business district and were consequently lynched on the banks of the Trinity River.

Their names were Sam, Patrick & Cato & as we round out Black History month, let's remember and honor them. Who can you help find their voice today? Which of the many injustices in this world can you fight for in your unique way?

The seed for A Little More Truth, LLC was planted when founder and President April Sojourner Truth Walker was a fourth grader helping her mom in Summer School. While tutoring a little boy named Gerald, a passion grew for helping people find and express their voice through the written word.

April graduated Suma Cum Laude with a BA in English/Creative Writing from Emory University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Hollins University. She is Cave Canem graduate fellow, and has poems published in several literary publications.
